Hi, I’m Bella.
I grew up in Mérida, México, and now study Computer Science at UC Berkeley. I started coding when I was ten, and technology has been part of my life ever since, from programming robots and building my first app to studying CS today. Over time, I became just as interested in the people using technology as I was in the technology itself.
Teaching has also been a big part of my life. I’ve spent years teaching computer science, and it’s made me curious about how people learn, why different things click for different people, and how much the way something is presented can change someone’s experience of it.
I love bringing people together too. I’ve started communities, been part of teams I really care about, and met some of my closest friends through the things I’ve helped build. Growing up in México and moving to Berkeley has also given me the chance to meet people whose experiences are completely different from my own.
Outside of school, I DJ, tap dance, bake, and travel whenever I can. I love music, good coffee, and finding new places to eat.
