MANUAL INVITATION SEQUENCE REPEATED 3–5 MINUTES PER INVITE

SoundExchange

Inviting one user took 3–5 minutes. What looked like a small administrative task was repeated dozens of times across multiple systems, files, and manual CRM updates.

75%+

Targeted reduction in administrative effort

6 steps → 1 flow. Projected from the proposed solution, not a measured production result.

Product

An internal platform supporting licensee management and royalty submissions.

My role

Product Management Intern, from discovery through engineering handoff.

The problem

A routine user invitation required six steps across multiple systems and took 3–5 minutes each time.

What I did

Talked with the people doing the work, mapped where their time was going, and turned what I learned into a scoped product solution.

How it moved

Discover · Define · Design · Deliver

01

Discover. Talked with the people doing the work and mapped the existing process to understand where their time was actually going.

02

Define. Looked for the problems worth solving, weighing user pain, business impact, feasibility, and fit with the roadmap.

03

Design. Turned what I learned into a simpler in-product invitation flow and prototyped the direction before locking in the details.

04

Deliver. Turned the solution into a PRD, Jira stories, and Gherkin acceptance criteria, then worked with engineering as it moved into sprint planning.
